The City, through the issuance of this Request for Prequalification (RFPQ) invites general contractors to submit prequalification statements to be considered for the construction of the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant – Intake Chamber Replacement project at 650 Memorial Drive, North Bay.  Only firms that have been prequalified through this process will be invited to submit a bid. 

The proposed work for the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant – Intake Chamber Replacement project generally includes the construction of concrete chambers, sanitary sewers, new forcemain and road reconstruction works to replace the existing inlet and outlet of the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).The description listed below provides a general, but not necessarily complete, description of the work for the construction the project. 

• Construction of new concrete chambers including the installation of engineered sheet piling, shoring and dewatering systems;
• Removal and installation of new large diameter sanitary sewers (minimum sizing), forcemains, outfall sewers (minimum size), maintenance holes and storm sewers;
• Installation of new process equipment in inlet chambers including a weir gate and check valve; Installation of new storm sewers and headwall;
• Associated electrical, control and instrumentation works;
• New forcemain and road reconstruction works (provisional);
• Memorial Drive road closure including traffic control requirements; and,
• Various site works and restoration including removal of existing asphalt, curb, trees and fencing and installation of new fencing, grading and landscaping.

Construction staging to complete the works identified above will require the implementation of multiple bypass pumping systems, including a live tap of an existing forcemain, to ensure the continuous conveyance of flows to and from the WWTP.
